Hi, I’m Prof John Martey


Rev Canon Professor John J M Martey FCG is a Professor of Management, Fellow, Chartered Governance Institute, Consultant and Priest.

He is currently Freelance Instructor.

He was the Founder and CEO of Corporate Developments Consultants Limited, and Holy Spirit On-Line in Accra.

He was the Rector of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) formerly Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) in Accra from 2001 to 2008.

In August 2017 Professor Martey was honoured for his invaluable contribution towards the development of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) by the erection of a Bust and the naming of a Faculty Block after him.

Professor Martey is an Education Outreach Advisor with the Ureka Education Group (UK, India, Dubai). In December 2018, the Rev Canon Professor was chosen as First Outreach Advisor of the Month, by the Ureka Education Group (UK, India, Dubai), for the design of a Skills-Based training programme titled Global Business Strategy and Governance.

Prof Martey has a long-standing experience in managing SMEs. He founded the Mars Senior High School in 1974, the Holy Spirit School in 2003 and the Holy Spirit On-Line in 2019, the Corporate Developments Consultants Limited in 2015 and the CDC Professional Courses Online in 2021.

Prof Martey was Senior Lecturer and Founding Director, Centre for Continuing Education, Methodist University Ghana, from October 2012 to August 2017.

He also served as Senior Lecturer and Founding Head of Department, Department of Management Studies, Methodist University Ghana, from February 2009 to September 2012.

He has a long-standing experience in teaching, general and financial administration, management consulting and priesthood. He is an expert in teaching Governance, Business Strategy, Corporate Finance, Management and Organisational Behaviour, Business Communication, Organisation Structure and Design, Church Administration and Leadership in traditional classes and on skills-based courses.


He has served as Consultant on several assignments and experienced in the preparation of Corporate Governance Policy, Strategic Plans, Business Plans, Financial Plans, Asset Modernisation Plans, and Training Plans.


The Professor is experienced in the design and development of study materials and the delivery of courses, Business Advisory Services, Strategic/Financial Planning Services, Organizational Development Services and Provision of Financial Analysis for Strategic Decision.


He is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (UK and Ireland) and a past President of the Ghana Association of the Chartered Governance Institute (GHAISCA).

He has several books, online study modules, articles and technical reports to his credit.
